Take a Road Trip to 4-H Camp

Road Trip to 4-H Camp is for youth in grades 3rd-6th. It is held at the University of Minnesota, Morris campus June 19th through the 21st.

Camp Track Choices for 2012 include:
*Technology
*Camp Exchange
*Media Masters
*Rockin' Rocks

Check with your county Extension Office to register for camp. Or call the Extension Regional Office in Morris at 888-241-4532 and talk to Heidi.

Geology Track

Earlier today, the geology track kids took a city bus out with a geologist from campus to collect racks.

This afternoon, they received a tour of the geology department and learned how they process and identify rocks using microscopes and machines.

They soaked the rocks they collected on their trip while they had the tour.  The geologist then showed examples of rocks with hopes they could start identifying their own rocks.
